Description

Wander through Boston and discover its beauty, culture and history! You will follow the famous Freedom Trail, which traces the history of the American Revolution in Boston. You will also wander through the charming neighbourhoods of Beacon Hill and Back Bay.

You will find your guide near the Old State House or Copley Place. As you explore the city, your guide will narrate its history and tell you numerous stories. You will visit the following places:

  1. The Freedom Trail and the epic history of the American Revolution
  • The famous, historic building of Faneuil Hall
  • The Old State House (former capitol building)
  • The Massachusetts State House (seat of government for the State of Massachusetts)
  • The site of the Boston Massacre
  • The Old South Meeting House church
  • The Old Corner Bookstore, a former publishing house
  • The King’s Chapel Unitarian Church
  • The historic Granary Burial Ground cemetery
  • The Park Street Church
  • Boston Common garden
  1. The charming neighbourhood of Beacon Hill
  • The historic red brick houses and their street lamps
  • Louisburg Square Park

Options

When booking, you will be asked to choose between the following routes:

  • Departure from the Old State House (ending in Copley Square): The tour will begin at 10am near the Old State House and will end in Copley Square. This visit will focus in particular on the Freedom Trail and its history.
  • Departure from Copley Square (ending at the Old State House): The visit will begin at 12:30pm and will end near the Old State House. This tour will focus more on the Back Bay visit.

Good to know

  • Available: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (except in exceptional circumstances)
  • Duration: around two hours
  • Times: 10am (Departing from the Old State House) or 12:30pm (Departing from Copley Square)
  • To take part in this activity simply present your voucher to the service provider when you arrive
  • The departure and end points will vary according to your chosen route (Departing from the Old State House and ending at Copley Place OR Departing from Copley Place and arriving at the Old State House)
  • The guided tour takes place in English
  • It covers a distance of around 3km / 2 miles
  • We recommend wearing comfortable shoes
  • Toilets are available at the tour departure and end points
  • You will be able to stop off to buy a drink or a snack on the route
  • We recommend bringing a pushchair for small children. Please note that you will have to walk on uneven surfaces and climb some stairs
  • The tour takes place in all weather. A poncho will be provided free of charge in the event of rain
  • After your tour we recommend having lunch outside in Newbury Street, going shopping in Copley Place or visiting the city's museums.
