Leaving from Frankfurt, visit the romantic city of Heidelberg on the banks of the River Neckar!
Travel to Heidelberg by bus in the company of a guide. Upon arrival, your tour starts with a visit to the ruins of Heidelberg Castle. The site features vast terraced gardens, a great tower split in half and one of the biggest wine barrels in the world, the “Heidelberg Tun”.
Your guide will then lead you into the city centre to see the conserved medieval houses as well as the city’s major monuments such as the university, the old bridge across the Neckar and the Church of the Holy Spirit.
You will then be supplied with a packed lunch to eat on the bus on the way back to Frankfurt, arriving in the early afternoon.
Upon your return to Frankfurt you’ll set off on a tour of the city by bus and on foot. Aboard the bus, you’ll visit the neighbourhood around the main station, Sachsenhausen and the financial quarter. You’ll then leave the bus to explore Römerberg, the historic city centre, by foot. Stroll along the Zeil, a mile-long pedestrianized shopping street that stretches through central Frankfurt.
You will then get back on the bus to admire the opera house, the old ramparts and the convention centre, before the tour comes to an end back at Frankfurt Main Station.
