Discover the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and the city of Koblenz, which straddles the Rhine at its confluence with the Moselle, on this day trip from Frankfurt.
You will travel to Ehrenbreitstein by bus in the company of a guide to discover the historic fortress, the second-biggest in Europe, which towers 118 metres above the Rhine. Your guide will tell you about the history of this battlement, which has existed in various forms for over 1,000 years. The commanding height and position of the fortress offer exceptional views onto the city of Koblenz.
You will then take a cable car to fly over the Rhine. At 850 metres long, the cable stretches across the river and gives you a great birds-eye view of where the two rivers meet in central Koblenz.
Ride down into the heart of Koblenz, where the cable car terminates near to the “Deutsches Eck”. This headland marks the point where the Rhine and Moselle merge together and features a monument dedicated to the union of Germany.
Your guide will then take you to Koblenz city centre.
You’ll have some free time to explore before getting back on the bus. When you get on the road you’ll follow the Rhine towards Frankfurt, stopping for dinner on the way at a traditional restaurant in the Rhine Valley.
You will arrive back in Frankfurt in the early evening.
