Description

This bike trip will take you along the River Thames to Richmond Park, the biggest royal park in London, where you can see herds of wild deer roaming freely.

Ginette has a special authorization to lead tours on the estate, and enhances the outings with her knowledge of hunting and its long history.

Once you’ve collected your bike, you’ll set off down the riverbanks, where you’ll be able to see what remains of Richmond Palace; the surviving structures now a testimony to its former glory. Ginette will then guide you to the exact viewpoints used by Turner in his famous paintings of the Thames.

The tour then arrives at Richmond Park, a historic hunting ground of the British Royal Family. Passing through the Isabella Plantation, a woodland garden planted with rhododendrons, you’ll learn about the history of London’s royal parks.

You’ll also get a chance to observe the magnificent stag and deer that roam freely in the park.

At the end of the morning, Ginette will recommend a good local pub for a traditional lunch.
