Description
Visit the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, the museum dedicated to aeronautic and space technology!
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is devoted to the nautical, aerospace and military history of the United States. Each exhibition hall transmits to its visitors a fascinating piece of history.
- Visit the Intrepid, an aircraft carrier that marked the history of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II, the Vietnam War and the Cold War.
- Discover one of the biggest aircraft collections in the US and get up-close to the apparatus
- Get inside the Growler submarine to discover what daily life was like for the sailors who lived aboard.
- See the Enterprise shuttle and intergalactic exhibits featuring original objects, photographs, movies...
The museum is highly interactive: you can sit in the cockpit of an A-6 in the flight simulator zone, climb into a real Bell 47 helicopter, or pilot a virtual fight in The Exploreum!
Good to know
- Availability: every day (excluding exceptional dates)
- Opening times: 10am to 5pm, until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday from April to October (final entry to the submarine is at 4pm)
- Location: on the banks of the Hudson River in Manhattan, along 12th Avenue
- Language: English
- Duration: day pass (plan roughly 3 hrs to visit the whole site)
- You will be asked to indicate a provisional date for your visit when you book, but your ticket is not restricted to this date. Your official ticket is non-dated, meaning you can use it on the day of your choice (within 6 months of the date you select upon booking)
- Visitors who purchase reduced-rate tariffs will be asked to present proof of age/identity upon arrival
- The ticket gives you priority access at the main entrance to the museum. You will however be required to wait in line with the other visitors who have reserved their tickets online in order to access the submarine.
This activity can be cancelled free of charge until the day before the scheduled date. After this time and in the case of a no-show, you will be charged in full for the activity.
