Description

Discover the Sainte-Chapelle, a real architectural treasure of the Gothic movement. Built in just 7 years, it is especially known for having housed several Holy Relics, including part of Christ's crown of thorns.

Located on the Ile de la Cité, the Sainte-Chapelle was consecrated on April 26, 1248, in the Palais de la Cité, the formal residence of the Kings of France from medieval times until the 14th century. Now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the royal chapel has lost none of its allure and has retained its reputation as the Gothic jewel of France.

Inside, discover the famous stained-glass windows and admire the colours that illuminate the chapel in beautiful shades of light. Divided into 15 panels, each 15m in height, the stained glass windows depict 1113 scenes from the Old and New Testaments, telling the story of the world until the arrival of the Holy Relics in Paris.

With our priority access e-tickets, we did not have to wait in the queue on the street to be allowed in. At the entrance to Sainte-Chapelle, we joined the really short line reserved for people with tickets. The ticket queue was quite long
