A minibus will collect you from your hotel to take you to the places where these two illustrious painters spent the final days of their lives; two locations that were both an incredible source of inspiration. Visit their former homes for an insight into their personal worlds – a must for all art-lovers!
Situated in the department of Eure, the Giverny region is particularly famous as the setting for Claude Monet's house, which is now listed as a historical monument.
You will visit the house and the artist's studio, as well as the pretty gardens. Discover the famous Japanese bridge over the lily pond; a great source of inspiration for Monet towards the end of his life. Immerse yourself in the world of this great painter before taking a look at the wider artistic movement he belonged to at the Impressionism Museum.
After lunch at the Moulin des Fourges restaurant (see menu below), your afternoon will be dedicated to the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. You will be taken to Auvers-sur-Oise for a tour of the village where the painter lived out the last days of his life. The time that Van Gogh spent here was his most prolific, producing some 70 paintings. Finally, you will explore Van Gogh's room at the Auberge Ravoux.
