Description

Discover Rome's treasures with your guide during a 3-hour tour of the Christian churches and their underground spaces!

Visit the Christian side of Rome in a small group to discover the treasures hidden beneath the churches.

You will start your tour by visiting the Cathedral of Rome, also known as the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran. You'll get the chance to admire the building's façade and remarkable staircase, the Scala Santa (Holy Stairs).

Continue your tour with a visit of one of the oldest papal churches -the Basilica of Saint Clement, the only Roman church composed of three distinct levels. Explore the church's underground spaces which date from between the 1st and 12th centuries; the altar depicting Mithras dates back to the 1st century.

You will then go to the Basilica of Santi Quattro Coronati, where an incredible series of frescos were discovered in 2002, representing most notably the Zodiac, the Four Seasons and King Solomon.

You will finish your tour by seeing St. Peter's in Chains Basilica, renowned  for being home to the tomb of Pope Julius II and the statue of Moses created by Michelangelo.

You guide will tell you all the stories and history of the different places you visit.
